Clone Trooper Costume Brings a New Lease on Life

A nursing home for paraplegics housed 40 residents. Whatever life they have was always spent on wheelchairs and beds. Television, reading materials, board games and talks are their forms of recreation. Sometimes they ask themselves if that’s all they’re going to do until the end of their days. They miss the active days of their life. How they long for those days to come back. Most days can be really boring when you’re sitting on wheels all the time.
One afternoon a 30-year old paraplegic resident’s family came to visit. The resident guy was so impressed and entertained with the nine-year old Dopey, the son of his sister. Dopey was in a Clone Trooper child costume, making dance moves with his body while he sat beside his uncle. His uncle was reminded of how he used to love that movie when he was about Dopey’s age, and he would have loved a Clone Trooper child costume himself. Dopey kept on dancing with his hands and shoulders.
Hmmm… an inspiration was sparked by the dancing of Dopey. Guess what’s next?
You’re right. Dopey’s uncle started a dance group on wheels, if only to bring a challenge and something differently fun in their nursing home. And boy, oh boy, they’re having a great time!
