I was looking for some interesting ways to spend a lazy Sunday with my young son and I found a website with some great woodworking project plans that gave me a wonderful idea for a new experience. Last week, I downloaded some beginner woodworking projects from a website and my 9-year-old helped me put together one of the simpler ones. It was a great way to spend an afternoon bonding with my young child.
It was good that we chose an easy woodworking project because I am not very experienced, so I learned a lot during the process as well and my son got to use a hammer and nails for the first time in his life. I think he learned about the work that goes into building some of the objects we use everyday, like our cabinets, dressers or tables. The best part is, he can’t wait until our next project together.
