I am learning about digital photography, I’m learning both the mechanics of operating the camera and the visual, artistic element of taking good pictures. I searched the web for advice and tutorials but everything seemed like it was advanced and more for the experienced camera operator, not for beginners like me. However, I found a site that has videos that give free photography lessons so I included them in my site. They’re easy to follow and explain digital photography in terms I could understand as a beginner.
The lesson on photo composition was beneficial to me because it I always have difficulty deciding what should and should not be in the picture. His thoughts on the importance of content and the message the photo delivers were worth the time.

What do elves in green hats and Harry Potter characters have in common? I wondered the same thing when I recently attended a party for teens. I had never associated the two fantasy characters until then.
When I asked about the connection it was explained that the elves have wonderful mystical powers and the characters and creatures found in the Potter adventures do, too. I said hesitantly, “OK…”, not fully agreeing with the logic. The next youth I asked explained that the elves were a safe bet to be friendly. “Have you ever heard of an evil elf?”, she asked. I guessed that since the party was supposed to be themed around friendly characters, the stretch of imagination blended the two genres and it made sense. Still not fully convinced, I asked another teen when the truth came out.
“We found these hats in a closet in the drama department and we decided to wear them.” Ah-Ha! The Truth!

Are you looking for a fresh idea for a Halloween costume? Possibly not too expensive and one that will be memorable? If you are looking for new ideas, I have a suggestion that may be what your seeking.
Not to mimic the characters Dorothy and Toto in the movie The Wizard of Oz, but why not mix a cute dog in a favorable light with a witch? Accentuated by the sadness of seeing Toto being carried away in a bicycle basket, Toto was a lovable character in the movie classic. So why not mix the likability of the pet with the likability of a normal witch? Impossible, you say?
Think of Samantha Stevens in the television series Bewitched! She was normal, physically attractive and likable. Take on her demeanor by reducing the harshness of the witch outfit, then customize your dog with unique dog clothes, and you’ve changed the look of the evil witch to a pleasant and appealing one!
