Old Fashioned or Contemporary Ceiling Fans

Nowadays, most home owners see themselves as mini designers and are far more ambitious about carrying out new decor and home improvement jobs on a gut feeling. However, one of the main problems many people have is with mixing and matching. The issue is not so much with the colour schemes as it’s never too difficult to coordinate hues for your idea, but it’s more a problem with furniture, fixtures, and fittings. For example, they might have an old fashioned theme overall and then install say contemporary ceiling fans, glass top coffee tables, and some modern art.

It’s very possible to blend the old with the new, but it’s actually not an easy thing to do. It’s an art if you’re to get it right and most people don’t unless they have a natural flare for interior design. Having a theme that doesn’t go can have a subconscious and negative impact on mental health because there’s not a good ambience, just as a space with a good ambience can have a very beneficial effect on mental health. The more your rooms help you to feel, the more relaxed you become as a result.

So before rushing out with a variety of new items on your next shopping list as you dive in head first with that new decorating job, just stop, step back and get some feedback from others on your plan. It’ll help to open your eyes and see what’s right, and what’s obviously not.
