A major success was achieved by Intex Telecom Systems, the Philippines’ leading service provider for major telecommunication companies. At the initial stage of the development of GSM, Intex successfully facilitated the access of Nokia Siemens Network to GSM technology in the Philippines. This service is now available for SMART and Globe Telecom subscribers. The Eastern Telecommunications Philippines Inc. (ETPI) had initially received the deal with Nokia Siemens, but due to manpower constraints, they failed to carry it further. Nokia Siemens then decided to transact this business with Intex Telecom Systems that is known to be efficient in supplying MSAN solutions and effective in handling ETPI. ETPI then became able to enhance scalability and bandwidth capacity and further met increasing demands from subscribers.
